Clément is 30 years old. He took his first vows in 2016 in Juvisy-sur-Orge. After spending three years with the community in Strasbourg and earning a bachelor’s degree in theology, Clément decided to volunteer in Madagascar, where he teaches French and computer science to middle school students.
“When I was young, I received an education that emphasized openness to others and scientific curiosity. This invitation to discovery developed in me a taste for adventure and exploring new places. While this dynamic is now driving me to leave my country for a year of volunteer work in Madagascar, it first allowed me to be touched by the presence and mission of the Assumptionist brothers I met one day on my journey…
How amazed I was when I saw that it was possible to bring together brothers from such different cultures in a spirit of genuine family!
How amazed I was when I saw that it was possible to bring together brothers from such different cultures in a spirit of genuine family!
The Kingdom of God was therefore the great cause of this union of hearts. For me, it was the sign I needed to commit myself and respond to my deepest motivations. After my postulancy and novitiate, I am now in my third year of profession. I am therefore in the middle of my formation.
In addition to community life, which is the primary place of formation for religious, I had the opportunity to study theology and became actively involved in scouting and other places of life and faith. I had never imagined all these apostolates before the Assumption invited me to the mission. If it has been so beneficial for me, I am certain that other young people my age, who have a desire to serve the Lord, will also be able to flourish in our beautiful Assumptionist family.”
