Titled “Being Catholic in France in 2026,” this gathering provided an opportunity to explore the experiences, practices, and expectations of Catholics today, based on a Bayard–La Croix study conducted by IFOP.

The evening began with the celebration of Mass at 7:15 p.m., followed by the opening of the bar and a time of fellowship. At 9:00 p.m., the discussion was moderated by Arnaud Bevilacqua, deputy head of the religion desk at the newspaper La Croix, in the presence of Father Philippe and Brother Louis, Assumptionists. The presentations and dialogue with participants offered a rich and nuanced perspective on the realities of Catholicism in France in 2025.

Open to all, this gathering fostered an atmosphere of listening, reflection, and fraternity, illustrating the mission of the Bar des Augustins: to provide a space for dialogue in the heart of Paris, where faith and society meet.
